New Delhi India (UNA) :
The competition for India’s top-selling SUV in 2025 was incredibly close, with the Hyundai Creta narrowly finishing ahead of the Tata Nexon by a margin of just 561 units sold over the year. This tight finish shows how popular both models are with everyday car buyers across the country.
Both SUVs appeal to a wide range of drivers. The Creta is known for its modern design, comfortable ride, and broad network of service centres, making it a favourite among family buyers and urban commuters. Meanwhile, the Nexon has impressed with its strong safety ratings, fuel efficiency, and value-for-money pricing, attracting practical buyers looking for reliability and lower running costs.
For consumers, this close sales race means more choices, better features, and competitive pricing. When two top models vie for the lead, manufacturers often respond with updated trims, improved specs, and attractive offers to win over buyers.
Dealers noted that festive season promotions and finance deals also played a role in pushing sales for both SUVs. With demand remaining strong in smaller cities and towns as well as in big metros, the battle between Creta and Nexon is a good example of how India’s SUV market continues to grow.
As the automotive market moves into 2026, buyers can expect both Hyundai and Tata to introduce new updates and features on their SUVs, keeping competition high and giving customers even more reasons to choose according to their needs and budget.
