India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved a successful salvo launch of two Pralay missiles from a designated launch complex off the coast of Odisha. The test was conducted under monitored conditions, validating the missile system’s performance parameters and coordinated firing capabilities.
The salvo tests are part of an ongoing series of trials designed to demonstrate the missile’s readiness for deployment and operational integration. Pralay, a quick‑reaction, surface‑to‑surface missile with a conventional warhead, is intended to enhance tactical deterrence with its precision strike ability.
According to officials involved in the trial, both missiles followed the intended flight trajectories and met all mission objectives related to guidance, propulsion and terminal accuracy. The test also evaluated joint firing procedures and autonomous targeting mechanisms, underscoring the system’s effectiveness in coordinated launch scenarios.
In technical terms, the successful salvo launch highlighted Pralay’s advanced navigation systems and its ability to engage assigned targets with minimal deviation.
