The white blanket across passes and high‑lying hamlets offered a scenic backdrop for winter travellers, even as much of the region experienced milder conditions than typical for this time of year.
Overall weather patterns in Jammu and Kashmir this winter have been marked by unusually warm temperatures in the plains and lower valleys, contrasting with intermittent snowfall at elevations above 2,000 metres.
