146th Battalion Raising Day Celebrated at JAP-1 Ranchi, Four-Day Anand Mela Inaugurated

The 146th Battalion Raising Day of Jharkhand Armed Police-1 (JAP-1), Ranchi is being observed from January 5 to January 8, 2026, with a series of ceremonial and public-oriented programs. The event began with the National Anthem followed by JAP songs, creating a solemn and patriotic atmosphere across the campus. The occasion was attended by Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Tadasa Mishra, Additional Director General of Police Priya Dubey (Modernisation/Training), Inspectors General from various departments, and several senior police officers. During the ceremony, the Gorkha contingent of JAP showcased an impressive display of bravery, discipline, and skill, earning appreciation from both officials and attendees. A tug-of-war competition was also organized between serving and retired senior JAP officers, in which the team of retired officers emerged victorious. On this occasion, DGP Tadasa Mishra formally inaugurated a four-day Anand Mela, scheduled from January 5 to January 8, 2026. The fair features a variety of amusement rides, toy stalls, and sweet shops, offering entertainment for families and the general public. Senior officials stated that such events not only strengthen the morale and unity of the police force but also help build a positive and friendly connection between the police and the public.
